Our Mission

The Mission of the National Diversity Council’s Mentoring Knowledge Portal is twofold;

1) To Inform and Educate

2) To Provide Services to Members

This Knowledge Portal is an outgrowth of the National Diversity Council’s primary mission, which is, To Strive to establish a corporate environment that utilizes the full potential of each employee.

As a part of that Mission , we know that mentoring is a key and critical component. The extended dialogue between mentee and mentor brings with it a host of benefits – to the mentoring partners as well as the sponsoring employers and professional associations.

These benefits have been shown to

impact employee inclusion and engagement;
foster communication across differences and generations;
improve managerial practices; and
deliver growth and development for the leadership pipeline within organizations.

Our Vision

The vision of this Knowledge Portal is to bring members together for the purpose of sharing Best Practices in mentoring and to make mentoring resources readily available to anyone who desires to learn about the process and practice of mentorship. Without a sound methodology and comprehensive resources a mentoring process will not be able to deliver on its promise. We want this to be a gateway of information for coordinators of mentoring programs, diversity practitioners, trainers, leadership development specialists and individual mentees and mentors.
