Sue Schmidlkofer is the Director of Diversity & Inclusion Officer for a global leader in logistics and the world’s largest package delivery company. UPS offers an extensive range of solutions including transporting packages and freight, facilitating international trade, and deploying advanced technology to more efficiently manage the world of business. As a $61 billion global company with more than 454,000 employees, UPS is one of the most recognized and admired brands in the world.

In her role at the organization’s global headquarters in Atlanta, Sue helps oversee the company’s diversity and inclusion strategies, ensuring UPS leverages the unique perspectives of an inclusive workforce. This global strategy is built on UPS’s ability to increasingly connect our customers, suppliers, employees and communities.

Throughout her 24-year UPS career, Sue has held a variety of roles primarily within Human Resources in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and Georgia. Some of her prior roles included: Human Resources Director in the Michigan District and at the Chicago Area Consolidated Hub; Director of Employee Engagement at Corporate (administration of the company’s internal global employee engagement survey); Director of HR for Global Transportation at Corporate.

One of her passions includes making a difference in the lives of UPS employees through Business Resource Groups (BRGs). These groups unite UPSers globally by providing career development opportunities, professional networking opportunities and ways to make a positive impact in the communities in which they work, live and volunteer. UPS has 192 BRGs across ten different types (African American, Asian American, Focus on Abilities, Hispanic/Latino, LGBT & Allies, Millennials, Multicultural, Veterans, Women’s Leadership Development, and Working Parents).

Sue is on the board of the Georgia Diversity Council and the Atlanta Diversity Management Advocacy Group (ADMAG). She is also a member of OnBoard, an organization seeking to influence public companies to further the advancement of women in the boardroom and executive positions and the Atlanta Women’s Employee Resource Group.

Sue was named as one of the “2018 Top Ten Champions of Global Diversity” by DiversityGlobal Magazine. As a long-standing supporter of United Way, she enjoys volunteering in her local community with her family. A native of Wisconsin, Sue holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Spanish, and a Master’s Degree in Business Management/Human Resources.
