Derrick Grissom is a business and goal-oriented professional with in-depth experience in business-to-business sales, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and driving financial performance improvements for his customers. Currently, he works as a Sr. Business Consultant for Comcast Corporation where he is responsible for selling the company’s latest state of the art technology to small and midsize businesses in the metro Atlanta area. Such technology includes high speed internet, advanced phone (VOIP), cable, and surveillance (Smart Office) services. As a Sr. Business Consultant, Derrick consistently exceeds his sales goals through new revenue generation and averages well over 100% on a monthly basis.
In addition to a successful sales career at Comcast, Derrick is responsible for leading the OUT-ERG (Employee Resource Group) which represents the company’s LGBT and allied employees in an eight state region within the south. When Derrick was selected to become the leader of OUT @ Comcast in November of 2015, the group had zero members. With a lot of hard work and great determination, OUT has grown to over 500 LGBT and allied employees since its inception. As an openly gay male, Derrick is elated to lead such a dynamic group and works closely with his leadership team to enlighten fellow employees about LGBT interests, regardless of orientation.
Derrick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA and an MBA with a concentration in Management from South University in Savannah, GA. In addition to his educational background, he has been a member of Toastmasters International since 2007 and has earned both his Advanced Communicator Gold and Advanced Leadership certifications. He is scheduled to attain the next and final level communication award, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), very soon.
As a native of Atlanta and the oldest of three siblings, Derrick enjoys world traveling, learning about new cultures, and inspiring others to be the best version of themselves.
