Danielle Steele

Danielle Steele is the Interim Director of the Office of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender and of the Center for Women at Emory University. As Interim Director, she maintains and enhances educational, social, referral, and resource programs and support services for students regarding issues of sexual and gender identities. She advises several student organizations, assesses and maintains the Emory Safe Space Program and its affiliated events, and hires and supervises student and professional staff. Additionally, Danielle plans and coordinates special events throughout the fall and spring semesters and serves on numerous committees across the University as a representative for women and queer students.

Previous to Danielle’s start at Emory University in 2010, she worked as the Coordinator of GLBT Services at the University of Maine in Orono where she received her Master of Education in Student Development in Higher Education. Prior to her time in Maine, she earned her Bachelor in Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee. Danielle has also served as Regions Chair for the Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.
